What is your policy on cookies?
When a URL is tracked, it is replaced with the encoded
URL as outlined above. But when a user clicks on that link, a cookie is
also set on their computer. Note that users have the ability to disable
cookies on their browsers if they wish. The cookie is used for Pass Along
tracking and Spotlight tracking in the DARTmail system.
A cookie set by DARTmail includes the necessary information in order to
identify the user in the DARTmail system and record their action (i.e.
Pass Along or Spotlight tracking) to the correct message deployed. The
cookie sets the following information for a particular message:
1. Task ID identifies a particular message in the DARTmail server
2. Member ID identifies the user in the DARTmail server
3. Daemon ID internal ID used for processing the information received
back
4. Redirect ID set by the redirect server every time a new cookie
is set this is also an internal ID used by the DARTmail system
5. Path is the DNS for the DARTmail site from which the message
was deployed.
All this information is used only to record the data (Pass Along or Spotlight)
to the applicable DARTmail server, message and individual who took the
action. If Spotlight tags are not used, no additional data is recorded
for the user other than if they Pass Along the message.
- DARTmail detects pass along through cookies. When an email recipient
clicks on an encoded URL, they are given a cookie before being redirected
to the final destination URL. This cookie signifies the fact that a URL
has been clicked on for that message for the first time. Only the fact
that the original message recipient (who is opted-in) has clicked on the
encoded URL (initial cookie was set) and someone else has
clicked on the encoded URL who didnt have the cookie set on the
computer. That is identified in the DARTmail reports as a "Pass Along"
recipient. For privacy reasons we do not collect any information about
the person who has been passed along the email.
In
addition to tracking information, we may collect personal information
such as name, email address, home address, etc. when you register on our
Site. When you make purchases from our Site, we may collect purchasing
information such as product orders, shipping address(es), and credit card
information.
Rest assured, we do not sell or disclose information that identifies our
guests personally or makes it possible for other parties to contact them
directly without our guests' consent.
